Digital Experience

The Website as Our #1 Sales Channel

I own the strategy behind Coupa’s website and digital experience, built on one core belief: our site isn’t a brochure, it’s our highest leverage, always on sales channel.

Approach

Most corporate sites get treated as a marketing checkbox, refreshed when a rebrand happens, left alone otherwise. I run ours as revenue infrastructure, built around a simple idea: meet the buyer where they actually are in their journey, not where our org chart assumes they are. That means thinking like the buyer, not the brand: what does this specific persona need to see, in what order, to move forward? And it means borrowing from behavior people already trust. Buyers don’t arrive at a B2B site as a blank slate; they arrive with instincts trained by Amazon, by every consumer product they use daily. Fighting that instinct with a novel, “creative” navigation pattern doesn’t win points for originality, it just adds friction. We design toward the behaviors people already know, so the site converts because it feels familiar, not despite feeling unfamiliar. It shows in the data: engagement rate has climbed from 27.9% to 40.3% since 2021, with more visitors taking real action instead of bouncing.

That discipline goes back before Coupa. At Alfresco, I directed a full website redesign and introduced persona driven digital experiences that tripled engagement and strengthened pipeline conversion, ahead of the company’s acquisition. At Coupa, it shows up directly in the numbers: audience reach is up +7,117% since 2021, lead volume hit an all time high of 473,965 in a single year, and growth reaccelerated by 44.8% in 2025 after a dip the year before. The same principle now extends into our AI forward transformation: an agentic web infrastructure layer that lets teams self serve pages without a developer bottleneck, freeing the web team to spend its time on strategy and experience instead of production tickets. See the AI Forward Global Service Delivery case study for how that system works.

What I own

Set UX and web strategy for the enterprise, treating the corporate site as a revenue channel with the same rigor as paid demand gen.

Built the site’s UX philosophy around persona first thinking and familiar, consumer grade buying patterns (the same instincts people bring from sites like Amazon) to reduce friction and increase conversion.

Directed the persona driven website redesign at Alfresco that tripled engagement and strengthened pipeline conversion.

Lead the Web/Interactive discipline at Coupa, one of the three teams I own, including the shift toward AI enabled, self service web infrastructure.
